Hallo- weeeee!
New Halloween Quilts!
after teaching EPP for several years and making random blocks -
My Runner is complete this year. Yay!
Here are some of my favorite blocks.
I quilted it with black, green and orange thread. Some squiggly and some straight - my favorite combination.
so fun to mix the prints on this one. I love EPP and still love teaching it.
This is almost the end of my "dead people" toile' which I have enjoyed using on many projects.

The backing fabric is so cute.
I cut this out of a piece of fabric to make a label. A lot of times I fuse a label on a small quilt like this.
I'm hanging my Lollipop Mini on my back door with small magnets. It looked neat in the late autumn sun.
This fall I listened to this classic - it was not what I expected having only known the Movie Classic.
I'm currently listening to this and it is also not exactly what I expected.
It has been interesting to read the source material. Have you read either of them?

ReplyDeleteThe hex vex is perfect and I really need to finish mine. I think I purchased the pattern kit from you at least three years ago! I like the way you used the same fabric in the outer edges and the quilting is just right. Thanks for the inspiration!

ReplyDeleteYour post definitely puts me in the Halloween spirit! Love the EPP blocks you featured. It's a very cool table runner. I was listening to H.G.Wells radio story "War of the Worlds" last night on public radio. While it's dated today, I can see why people panicked. Orson Welles really did it justice. And our family listened to Frankenstein on the way to a family beach reunion - required summer reading for our rising Senior. Both men in the car moaned horribly. "It's soooo boring! She says in 20 sentences what could be said in one!" I laughed, and reminded them that way back then, there was no radio, TV, internet, cars... and folks gathered around and told stories, or sang, or played an instrument to pass time. Of course Mary used more words than we would. And do you know, that boy was the only one in his class that aced the pop quiz on the book? I enjoyed that as well as the listen. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

ReplyDeleteI have not read or listened to either of those books. I don't do "scary" very well. My idea of a good Halloween movie is Don Knotts in The Ghost and Mr. Chicken--or Abbot and Costello Meet the Mummy. LOL
There is such cute Halloween decor at your home! I've read both books, though I don't usually "do" scary.

ReplyDeleteI have not read either book but will put them on the list. This is the perfect time of the year to see those great sun setting/end of day shadows. I saw some cool ones outside yesterday as the clouds were lifting. The trees looked magical!

ReplyDeleteOh so many Halloween fabrics in your great table runner! I love the Peanuts characters in costume! When you are next in Albuquerque, check out the Dia de los Muertos fabrics at Hip Stitch. Actually, you can see them online too—so cute! Really nice people and a fun vibe in the shop.
ReplyDeleteYou do Halloween in style for sure! Your lollipops are cool for sure. I haven't read those books. I don't usually do scary. "Stranger Things" was too scary for me, for example! But I did just watch A Quiet Place on a plane, and loved it.

ReplyDeleteFabuloso Halloween EPP sampler! Love the colors and the fun fussy cuts! Bram Stoker's Dracula is one of my favorites. Haven't read it in many years, might have to do a re-read.
