Eye Candy for a Snowy Day


Good Morning!  It's snowing for the 2nd time in 3 days here in northern NJ.  I feel bad for all the quilters coming in for the red and white show, as weather will be wet and cold.  The quilt shows will surely warm us up.

Fun Alert:  My husband was in Chicago last week and stayed at The Wit Hotel.  Each night after turning down  the bed they left a toy - how fun is that?

    What a treat to see these beautiful quilts! I was happy to see so many hand quilted.

    The Midnight Garden gave me a chuckle. Years ago I wanted to get the look of trapunto on a border and I quilted the background pretty much the way that one is done. Mine didn't look quite so nice though. LOL

    I'm seeing a trend here....I think every one of those quilts you had pictured were quilted to within an inch of their life! LOL Those are the best quilts, though, in my opinion. The more quilting the better! Great job on taking the pics, too!

    The Grapes of Bath made me chuckle w/ the pun/play on name. :) It was one that I really enjoyed.

    The Nine-Patch Plus was one of my top 2 faves. :) The other was the grand-prize winner. :)

    Oh! And I liked the Christ banner - view from a window. :)

    Eye candy is right!! Love all that applique -- I dream of doing something like that!! Maybe in my "glorified body" in heaven! LOL I like the Bear Paw varation, too. Very traditional but with a little twist. Love the green in it! We had 78 degrees yesterday in KY -- not normal for this time of year! Hoping those sometime spring snows don't hit us!

    Oh my...thanks for sharing......so much inspiration........the Japanese quilts are so detailed and heavily quilted.....I wonder about the years that must go into making them.

    The quilt with all the grapes would have put me over the edge to make. All those little circles. It appears to be a meticulously done quilt.

    That must have been quite a show! Love the Bear's Paw, and Baskets quilts especially.
    Thanks for the tip on the weather. Last I looked was low 40s and sunny. In Chicago, it still means "cold"! Off to pack; I am beyond excited!

    this was one of the best shows I have been to in a long time, yes we loved so many of the same quilts.
    I came home very inspired and so happy to see so many hand quilted quilts in the show.
    So many of these were my favs too...
    In Sew is Life I loved her use of 2 background fabrics added so much to that quilt. The Grapes of Bath well just love her use of cheddar background and the eagle...she did that other cheddar quilt that was there a few years ago, and in Hershey and Fort WAshington too...

    WOW such beautiful quilts!! The basket quilt reminded me of something you would do. Infact I had to go double check the makers name to be sure it wasn't you LOL.

    Woww. What can I say that hasn't already been said? They were all amazing in their own way, but for me I prefer rather less dense quilting, but then, most of these I would think are meant to hang on walls rather than being snuggled under.

    I love them allllll, but theres something special sbout Life In The Midwest for me! I love it!
