On the way to the show, we stopped at Poole Forge, a lovely historical museum.
Here are some of the antique quilts they had on display. I am sorry for the poor quality, I was using my phone.
Wow, these are almost the exact colors I used in my Mother's Garden quilt - love it.
I'm in love with this one; toile' love
I thought the pink was a nice change from the usual green in this Grandmothers Garden.
Simple block to block construction - just a nice quilt.
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank 2 women that I have never met who helped me finish my Mother's Garden Quilt. Mary Jo and Joyce of Michigan sent me pink fabric and without their generous gift, I could not have made this quilt.

ReplyDeleteAnd Poole Forge! Did it used to be a farm and Sealyhams were bred there...maybe in the 70's??? (Were you in York?) Hubby's Uncle grew up there I think -- if this is the same place. I'll have to check with his Aunt. Hubby's Uncle's mother (is that a mouthful) won at Westminster in 1977 -- I wonder if it's the same place -- it sure looks like the pictures that I remember!
I'm happy to see that you posted a pic of you with your quilt. Would love to see it in person!
ReplyDeleteThe antique quilts are fun to see, too. The pink and white appears to be the rolling stone pattern, but how different it looks in just two colors!
Congratulations on your quilt! It would be a wish come true to ever make it to Lancaster to see the Amish quilts, I doubt that it will happen in my lifetime. Love all the quilt pics and would love to win the dvd so that I could pretend I was at the show!
