I met up with my Besties, who I hadn't seen in over 2 years. It was HOT! Here we are in the waterfront park in a grove of live oaks.

Pretty gardens. Wrought Iron is everywhere and compliments the gardens and architecture.
What a great food town! Here is Husk, a low country restaurant in an old house.
Tiny bakery; Hot Little Biscuits. check out the address ↑ sweet and savory little buns and grits.
The BEST carpaccio that I've ever had at S.N.O.B. (Slightly North of Broad).
5 Church. This is a great brunch place. It is in an old church.
The rafters are hand painted with the text of "The Art of War".
Fun Mimosa flight!
I collected all the pink houses and buildings that I saw. I was absolutely enchanted by them. I want one. They looked like dollhouses.

Oh, what a lovely visit you had! Putting all the pink houses together is impactful- I never thought about pink houses before. Now I want one, too! Great eating, great friends, great times.... good for you!

ReplyDeleteLooks like A WHOLE LOT OF FUN! What's not to love; good friends, good food and something interesting to see around every corner! I really enjoyed visiting Charleston a couple of years ago. So much History and interesting Architecture. If you get a chance to go to Fort Sumpter I would. The boat ride out of the harbor gives a very different view of the city and provides a nice change of pace. Have fun, Safe travels!

Old cemeteries and churches call to me. I have seen flowers growing on graves, but never in that type of concrete garden frame. Just beautiful!
Can't believe all the pink houses! I agree with Darlynn--wouldn't a pink house quilt be cool?

ReplyDeleteCharleston is indeed a charming city, and I appreciate this visual reminiscence about being there myself, nearly five years ago (when QuiltCon was in Savannah). Several of those houses look very familiar. I'm glad you had a good time!

ReplyDeleteMy daughter and son-in-law went to Charleston for their honeymoon. Said it was absolutely gorgeous and of course my daughter loved the pink houses too. Your pics and her stories make me want to go!:)

ReplyDeleteMy buddy Gail lived in one of those 1/2 houses, and it was pink when we saw it 10+ years ago (oh, too long ago). Glad to hear you ate at SNOB - absolutely loved that place! Even the bathroom - did you use it???? I laughed in delight and felt so wicked when I did. ;-) Thanks for sharing!

Looks like a super destination for a girls trip! Tickled pink to be there all together! The food, colors, textures, architecture fuel the senses and spark inspiration for more quilts!
