40th Anniversary, Ruby Jubilee Vermont Quilt Festival 2016
Best of Show - Christine Wickert - Shellabration
I try so hard to remember to photograph the card, but I missed this - here is what it said:"Inspired by an antique quilt in Kaffe Fassett's "Museum Quilts". I was particularly taken with the mirror imaging of the fabrics in the diamond blocks and the applique' strips separating the blocks. Hand Quilted.
Christine's work is always lovely and so is she. Congratulations.
This was my favorite quilt so fresh and fun! Pineapple of my Life.
The card said: This quilt was primarily made during the snowstorms of 2015. Every block tells the viewer something about me: where I lived, my love of sewing, hippos, foods and peas.
Halloween block. What an incredible use of low volume prints.
I was incredibly honored to receive a Blue Ribbon and Best Hand Quilting. A life goal! (sorry, cel phone photo)
Can I share that one of my goals is to receive a Purple Ribbon of Exception Merit? You need a combined average of 98 points from 3 judges. I've missed it by 1 point, not once but twice. Still on the goal list.I spotted these 2 women discussing it and have the opportunity to chat with them.
My blog buddy Wendy's (Constant Quilter) potholder quilt -
Here are the others that I really like and had an opportunity to photo.
Literally brought me to tears....
I missed the card again - this is two sided quilt - and was a delight to study front and back.
Hooray for applique!
My friend and roommate won a Yellow Ribbon - first time entering a big show - Congrats Norma.I've come home very inspired.....tired, but inspired.
I'll share the antique quilts soon.

Congrats on your ribbons! For winning that other ribbon .... as the saying goes, third time's a charm ....
Beautiful quilts! Congratulations on your winning quill. It is so pretty- job well done! Great job on the hand quilting.
I can definitely see why you'd be inspired. The Shellabration quilt is truly amazing. And a big shoutout for your incredible quilt It's an amazing piece of workmanship. I also loved the Pinapple quilt, really unique.
I am so disappointed that I did not get to see your quilt in person! I had to laugh at your comment of missing the exceptional merit by one point - again -. I missed a blue this year by one point - again! I had a good laugh with Cynthia about it. She won a third place in her first VT show - amazing! The only place I have ever gotten a purple was our Maine show. You WILL get one for sure!!! I love you "favorite" too. So very clever. Actually, it looks like a Barb Vedder quilt! Thanks for sharing these wonderful quilts. And again congratulations on a well deserved win!
Congratulations on your win! What an amazing show, thanks for sharing your photos and the notes about each quilt.

Congrats on such an honor--and meeting your goal. My goal has been never to enter a show! Very easy to meet. *LOL*
So many incredible quilts--the Halloween-ish one made me think of you. : )
For some reason that Waggle Dance quilt really captivated me. Maybe it is because I have a daughter that has always loved bees. She would let them climb all over her, even as a child. She collects all things "bee".
So pleased for you on your well deserved award! The Pineapple of My Life quilt is definitely in my wheelhouse too! Love all the quilts you posted!
Congratulations on your ribbons, Barb, and thanks for all the photos! It must have been a great show. Have a great summer!

The quilting on the clam shell quilt is quite good too. I don't think I will ever get to the Vermont quilt show but do enjoy seeing the quilt pictures taken at it. A view without being in a crowd.

Thanks so much for sharing! I haven't been to a quilt show for a while and won't be going to the Sisters OR show tomorrow due to family company (besides just arriving home on Wednesday from the 3000 mile driving from Pensacola FL to OR helping our son & family move up here)!! I really love several of the quilts that you showed us. Good luck meeting your goal - I'm sure you will!
Congratulations on your mostly deserved ribbons. Next year you will get the 1 point missing this year; for sure.
