Fun For Friday - Button Cards

A quick post today before the guild meeting.

At a show I picked up this new button card, it's my favorite.

Here is a sweet one

I think this one is from my buddy Jill.  Aren't they handsome devils.  Buttons on your underwear, lol.

I love this one too, being an avid game enthusiast and bingo player.   Educational Lotto - funny, huh?

As you can tell, I'm not a serious collector.....yet.

After taking down the Easter Decorations, I decided to group my few London themed objects.  Almost anything can make a vignette if they are related in some way, an old toy bank, toy bus, pepper shaker and tea accessories.

Happy Friday Everyone!

The button cards are interesting. Looks to me like you have the start of a serious collection. They are so much more interesting than the way buttons are packaged today.

Great collections - "Peter Pan Pearls" - too funny.
Love the hooked(?) mat that the buttons are displayed on.

I had never seen these kind of button cards. They are really cute and interesting. Are they from the 1940s?

I will have to look at my mother's and aunt's button cards with a keener eye from now on! What fun cards you shared, thanks. So tell us about the background--did you make it? I recognize many of the fabrics. What a great way to use up fabrics that we still have bits and pieces of and need just the right project. Please share. Thanks Ardis

Don't you wish our packaging was more interesting. I think you have the good beginnings of a new collection. I'm going to pay closer attention to those old button cards.

The buttons are fun and how patriotic of you for this side of the pond. Our Queens jubilee this year so your right on track with you British memorabilia.

Those button cards are fun. I've never seen one as cute as the one with the dress. I covet your UK collection :)

Oh Barb, those buttons cards are so fun!!! I've never seen ones like that. The Peter Pan ones are hilarious!!! And the bingo one so clever. It would be very tempting to become an avid collector.

I love to find buttons on cards. They are just as much fun as the buttons.

Clever button cards and they look to be in awesome shape! Have you seen the new British novelty fabric released recently?

Most likely our children will not even know what a button is! The cards are worth framing.
