Quilty as Charged!

Creative Craziness is happening in the development of a couple of new workshops.  Here is one "mood board" approach.  Stay tuned.
I pulled blocks and scraps from every corner of my sewing room.  I'll be adding 2 new workshops and a 3rd lecture in May.
This week I made a easy, healthy, low fat, veggie filled casserole that I thought you may like.
Chicken Casserole
Ingredients:
2 cups Cooked Chicken (I like to use a rotisserie chicken)
2 cups egg noodles (before cooking - I used veggie pasta)
20 oz. mixed vegetables (or peas and carrots if you prefer)
1 can cream of mushroom (I used fat free)
1 can cream of chicken (I used fat free)
1 cup milk (I used Fat Free Lactaid and added a few TBs of Ranch.
2 TBs. melted butter
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese and 1/2 cup for topping
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. Italian seasonings
salt and pepper to taste
** don't judge my pan, I've been using it for 30 years lol.

Cook pasta according to package directions.
Mix remaining ingredients in a large bowl.
Spread into a greased 9 x 13" pan.
Bake 30-40 minutes until hot and bubbly.
Top with 1/2 cup (or more) shredded cheese and broil for 3-5 mins - watch closely so it doesn't get too brown.

This is what I think of as "Real Food - for Real Lives".  My family is devouring the leftovers.
If you are going to Quilt Fest Chicago say hello to my Jubilee Quilt on display in the American Tradition Applique' exhibit.  It comes home after this show - yay!
Have a happy week.

Finally back online! Love your creative craziness! I'm not a fan of contained samplers, I love the random scrappy potluck quilts. Have fun with your lectures & workshops. Wish we could get you to Maine!! Are you going to the AQSG study day on the 21st?

Oh my- all those bits and blocks are going to join forces! Lovely. Thanks for the recipe- it looks yummy, and anything that you can make once and have twice or more is fine with me.

Oooo, could your next lecture and workshop be on using orphan blocks to make a quilt top. If it is, I might have to strong arm my guild into having you back for this! Bwa ha ha!

I bust out laughing at 'don't judge my pan" !!! Why? Well I have a few of the 'been through the years' pans myself! :)

Oh my! I love that first mood board photo. Love it. I've never done a mood board or any kind of "board". But this maybe the nudge I needed to give it a try. Thank you for the reason to buy more rotisserie chickens, they are my go to!

Wouldn't you know! I am gong to Chicago, but won't get there until the 17th! I have wanted to go to one of those quilt shows for years, but rarely go there any more. Would love to see your quilt in person!

AHHH--my pyrex pans look like that too!! Now I don't feel so bad!
I make a similar casserole with rice instead of noodles.

Creative Craziness looks like a lot of fun. Can't wait to see more of this project. Thanks for sharing your recipe. It's perfectly timed too; we had rotisserie chicken tonight so I'll try that tomorrow. I had a giggle at reading your post title. Very clever and cute. ;^)

Love the mood board idea!
Got a chuckle about the pan. You know, I have so many glass pans, and they all looked similar to yours for many years. Then about 14 years ago we got a new dishwasher, and little by little all that "patina" washed away. My glass pans have nothing to show for all of their years of service. Kinda sad.
Your Jubilee quilt is such a stunner!

Your mood board is very inspiring.:) Love those colors together!

when our glass pan that I got at a yard sale looked like that I took some really fine wet/dry sandpaper with Dawn dish detergent to get rid of the "color"... see if it works for you!
