Finally Fall

Happy Official Autumn! (in the North)
One of my favorite quilts for fall "Harvest Baskets" ala Gwen Marston inspiration.
It was so cool that we made a fire and sat out.  Marvelous!  My boys look like twins :)
New Flash:  I have a new item in my Etsy Shop - a 1 oz. white basting glue with a mirco tip and build in cap. $5.00 plus shipping.
I'm working on my 2nd Whig Rose Block.  I don't get much time to sit these days but when I do I love stitching on this project.
End of the season for my annuals.  I really enjoyed this mix.
I LOVE moss roses (portulaca).  They open everyday when the sun comes out.
I'll plant more of this next year~ they are drought resistant too.
I did a little fall decorating by my kitchen sink...you know where I'll enjoy it often.  The cardinal was glowing on this rainy day.
My theme was New England houses.
 Easy Food Hack:
Spread refrigerated crescent rolls with pesto (this is a Costco brand and is excellent!) sprinkle with cheese and bake.
I was very luck to get this last photo - they go very quickly here!
Lastly, I hung my Sumptuous Stars EPP Star quilt for the fall.  It is always fun to see old friends.  I use the Hang it Dang It  and as I've said before:  it is the PERFECT accessory for hanging quilts.
It's Fair Weekend - woo hoo!!! Hope you are doing something fun too.

Love the warm glow of your quilts and decor. Anyone would be happy to sit and stitch that Whig Rose- it's so appealing. Enjoy the fair and show us some of the new "snacks"- those are always interesting!

I had to laugh at the he-men enjoying the fire and their "cellular telephones"! Love your decorating. I especially love that little basket quilt. Yum!

I like how you used the two different border fabrics on your basket quilt. I have done the same thing for a quilt border. Adds interest and sometimes uses up fabric I didn't have enough of to be four borders in size.

Do you have an electrical plug at your kitchen window or are the lights battery operated? Nice display.

Lovely change-of-season decor! I always think of Peg Bracken's memoir, "A Window Over the Sink." When she was planning her dream retirement home she insisted that there be a window over the kitchen sink. (Alas, I don't have one in my kitchen.)

Love baskets and Gwen. I hate the thought of tossing my annuals too. I put white vincas in one pot and they did super and still look great. Enjoy the fair. Tomorrow we are heading to volunteer for the Bourbon Country Burn. We don't bike but we like camping and bourbon!

Fun post today. I too plant portulaca and love it! I had a bunch of volunteers come up this year so I didn't need to buy any! I too use the Hang It Dang It and find it's so easy to use. I have 2 sizes so one nail works with both. jodyrandall@hotmail.com

Wow, fall is in the air at your house! Fun basket quilt with different border fabrics and I always enjoy seeing Sumptuous Stars. I absolutely love your Whig Rose block! Pretty annuals. Wish I could grow Portulacas--they remind me of my grandmother's garden :)

I'm so envious of your rain. I need a few rainy days myself. I just noticed the string of lights with your cardinal and I've added the idea of outlets near high window ledges for our house... someday. Thanks.

Have a great time at the fair! I LOVE your star fall quilt -- one of these days I'm going to make something similar (my list of to-make is long and glorious LOL). Your kitchen window is gorgeous! Happy Fall!

I'm still waiting for the cooler weather to get this far south! Thanks for the pesto roll recipe - I predict that will be a huge favorite at my house. Hang It Dang It sounds like a great idea - I will be ordering one asap!
