Happy Friday
Before today's post, let me take a moment and say Thank You to Teresa, of Fabric Therapy, for the lovely give away that I received in the mail. I can't wait to use these beautiful shirtings.
As previously promised here are the pieced quilts that I liked at the recent Vermont Quilt Festival.
This was a very clever and fun Grandmother's Flower Garden all done in Chicken Fabric! How fun is that?
Since making my pineapple quilt, I find them interesting to study. A lot can go into the planning of these quilts.
Of course, I LOVED this one - toile', lovely...
I guess this is applique' - it's joyful isn't it?
Here are the minis. The upper quilt won first place and best mini. It was beaded and was a whole cloth. My vote personally was for the quilt under it. It was a pieced log cabin and meticulously done!
We decided to take the NY thruway home through the Adirondacks. We took the car ferry, which was fun.
We stopped in Schroon Lake and ate lunch at a local (and I mean local) diner/coffee shop.
Here is the decor - mounted lake fish.
And painted saw blades. I do apologize for the fuzzy photos, but I turned off my flash so as not to attract attention. We didn't look like we were from around those parts. It reminded me of the fishing places in Wisconsin from my childhood.
I wish everyone a happy and safe Fourth of July!!
