Fun For Friday - Falling for fall

Happy Friday!

Fall has arrived in New England and it is wonderful.  I've been doing a little fall decorating.

Here is a centerpiece I made.

I started with the "cinderella" style metal carriage and added extra floral picks, a LED candle, a berry spray and a cute little bird.

I started by deconstructing the floral picks, then I hot glued the pieces I liked to to the carriage. Total cast with coupon; less than $20.

I got all my quits back from my friend Margaret's house - thanks again Margaret!!  I organized them in to categories for use, storage and display.

I have a couple displayed in the dining room.

I decorate the top of my hutch with 2 floral garlands from Joanns' and have a string of lights on a timer.  It gives a nice glow year round -kind of a set it and forget it touch.

I arranged a fall color display up at street level by my new house.  Here is the view from my mailbox.  The house if barely visible behind our rock.

Rich repainted the front door from raspberry to black and I found these great urns at Grandinroad thanks to my friend Joan.  Coco looks like a statue doesn't she?

Finally here is a spider that has taken up residence outside a family room window.  She has built a very lovely web.  It looks like tatting or lace.

Hope you are enjoying Autumn as much as I am.  Have a great weekend!

Oh what a very welcoming entrance, and I do love you privacy from the road. Where will you store all your quilts? Love the one on the table....it looks so cozy.
Still summer down here in NC but the nights are getting cooler :0).

Happy Fall

Love your decorating ideas. I adore spiders and their glorious webs outside, and really admire their handiwork. Thanks for ending your post in honor of Charlotte.

Very clever centerpiece. Nice job putting that together. I love decor that glows--like your LED candle and the lights on your hutch.
So many wonderful quilts heaped around in that photo. I don't begin to own that many! Especially love the one on the back of the bench in your dining room--kind of a log cabin/4-patch, isn't it?
Looks like your home is in a lovely setting, spiders and all! : )

Fall is my favorite quilt time of the year! Love the colors of your quilts and decorations.

I also like spiderwebs and like to watch spiders at work building their webs. Just don't like it when they try to come into the house!

Well, autumn hasn't really arrived in Texas yet, except on the calendar, so I can't say that I'm enjoying it. But, it is supposed to cool off this weekend and I can't wait! I do love seeing everyones decorations and I love fall. Last year at this time we were in New England and loved it!

Autumn is my favourite season, but we are experiencing a wet Spring, with a HOT summer predicted.
Love your quilt on the table, great colours. And your entry is stunning.

you did a great job creating that beautiful centerpiece~! and i love the string of lights idea~!!

so glad to see that you are making your new home comfortable and pretty and finding ways to make it your own. i love the way that your house sits a bit snuggled into the landscaping.

the spider web is quite impressive and isn't she a lovely girl~!? soon she'll be laying her eggs in an out of the way place and maybe next spring you will be lucky enough to find them when they hatch. i'm always on the look-out for them in the spring and have been lucky enough to find them many times. a few stay close by and the cycle starts again.
i'm not really sure what the 'official' name of this type of spider is but we call them cat spiders . . . has something to do with the body shape having a couple of triangular shapes that stick out a bit resembling a cat's ears i think. she's totally beneficial to your yard/garden and although she is slightly venomous (enough to create a welt on your skin) she won't bite you unless extremely provoked. on my bravest days I've handled them with no issues at all.

thank you for sharing a bit of your New England fall season.

:-)

You are just so crafty with all your cute decorations! I can't see my mailbox either so I always forget about decorating it. The quilt looks so good on your table, perfect fall color.

Oh your centerpiece is so pretty. You did a great job deconstructing and then making it yours.
The front of your house looks pretty too. I guess I should say the part in front of the rock. So nice that your house is set back some.
What a beautiful web. And this time of year everyone needs their own spider. Happy Fall

Hi Barb

What a lovely centerpiece! Fall is so wonderful - I'm just waiting for it to arrive here in Texas! Taking it's sweet time as per usual.
I'm so happy you have all your quilts back. Just in time for the cold season.

It's great being in Australia because I get to enjoy spring around me and Fall as well through beautiful photographs on blogs. I love your decorations, Cinderella would gladly give you her carriage to decorate any day and the garden grouping that includes a pumpkin is so cool. I bet the mailman is impressed! The spider will be perfect for Halloween. I bet you enjoyed seeing your quilts again and getting them organised.
