New Year, New Little Quilts

Happy New Year!

I am so late in posting a new years post!  I've been doing a little hand quilting on the Jubilee quilt every day and my goal is to finish before my June birthday.  Wish  me luck!

I made two little Downton Abby inspired quilts this week.  I'm so happy that the show is back for another season of family business and fashion.  Margaret sent me the Downton Abby fabric, thanks dear friend, miss you!

I used these two toile's on the back.

To get my mojo going, I reworked this little doll quilt top for one of the quilts.
This -
became this-

We had a nice family Christmas with the kids -

The Birthday dog, Coco, is wondering why she isn't in the photos -

Our 2013 Christmas card.  This American Gothic themed photo was taken at the family reunion and memorial for my mother in law and father in law and Rich's aunt at our family farm 4th of July weekend.

The little Downton Abby quilts are very versatile mug rugs.  Weather you prefer tea and bisquits or a little sherry and crackers they are the perfect size.

Hope your year is off to a great start and you are staying warm in the face of the Polar Vortex!

Your Christmas card photo is the best! I did not know there was Downton Abbey fabric, it looks to be the perfect compliment to your other fabrics.
I am thinking you are a sherry and crackers kind of girl....

A very happy New Year's post. Love the family photo. I'm sure it brought smiles to all on your Christmas card list.
I'll join the ranks of those happy to see DA return. How is the etched drawing of Highclere Castle part of the Downton Abbey line of fabrics? A separate panel? Or did you create the picture? Love your little mug rug creations.
Happy New Year to you and yours, Barb. Here's to another great year of stitching.

I love Downton Abbey and your mug rugs are such a wonderful reflection of the show. I love the pattern of the paisley mixed with the selvedge squares. The toile backing couldn't be more perfect! I wondered if you'd done a Christmas photo, and you certainly did, it's so fun!! }

I like how you used some wider strips of fabric between some of the selvedge pieces. Nice touch.

I love that picture!!! Very cute. I am a Downtown fan too. I was so happy to have it back. Ihaven't been out at all so I haven't seen the fabric yet. Your little quilts are so cute. I might just have to hunt some fabric down to make a mug rug for when I watch Masterpiece. LOL
Happy New Year

Such charming little quilts, Barb. They do look to be the perfect companions for a cup of tea. I was eager to catch the return of Downton Abbey, too, this Sunday. I wish we didn't have to wait so long for another season!

Oh, yes. I love Downton Abbey as well and your mug rugs are perfect! The American gothic picture is awesome! I took a similar picture of my DS/DIL when they were all muddy from doing a lot of digging in their yard. So classic!

As usual, Barb, you inspire me. So now I'm back to working on an 8 year old project and a brand new flannel one! My goal: have them done before 2015!!
