Well, we made it to 2025! This is my final finish of 2024. I made it for a special family friend, Jackson.
I had it quilted by my friend, Scarlett. I love this quilting design. It reminds me of toys.Okay, now to see how I did with my list of 2024 goals. In order:

I haven't set my intentions for this year, and I may not. I feel like I stayed very focused and did get a lot accomplished.
I give myself a solid B.
Thank you to all still check in here from time to time. I appreciate my quilt community now more than ever.
I wish you a happy, healthy and peaceful New Year!

first another great post after long hiatus! second you are tempting me again with those eagles...i have an applique pattern for them and closer to jumping in....third respectable number of finishes and more ahead no doubt...and last thank you for inspiring me in 2024 and more to come i hope!
Despite not getting to some of your UFO’s, you were very productive this past year. I love the way the star quilts look with the variation in lights, mediums and darks in the various blocks. Well done! I have a list of UFO’s to work on this year…but what did I do two days ago??…pulled out some fabrics for a new project! Here’s to another year of fun, creativity and finishes! Happy new year!
You are a tough grader. Let’s bump that grade up to at least a B+. Jill’s quilt and ribbon add many points to bump up that grade average.
You inspire us. I should update my UFO list this year and get busy!
Wishing you a healthy, happy and productive 2025.
So good to hear from you and about your quilting progress. Your baby quilt encourages me to think outside the traditional baby quilt patterns. And I have to make two by spring. Glad you got the state ribbon. Hope you check in more often. Happy New Year. Dotti in CT
My big goal for the year is to learn how to make an orange peel block as lovely as the one in this post. Hints or tips?
Congratulations on all you accomplished!! Your quilts are beautiful, and I'm looking forward to seeing what you work on this year.
A lovely recap of your accomplishments in 2024! So many lucky folks received one of your beautiful quilts and I'm sure they are wrapped up in quilty goodness during this cold spell. I love the eagle quilt - so bright and cheerful. Wishing you a very prosperous 2025! Kelley Secrest
Nice post! I always enjoy seeing your quilts. Happy new year and happy quilting!
Great work Barb! I think it’s totally OK to not set a bunch of goals for the new year. If you’re passionate about the process, you’ll enjoy working on things and that’s enough!😊
Excellent run-down on your projects. I'm with Anonymous- up that grade to A- or B+. That state fair win counts big! I really look forward to seeing the folk eagles and the basket quilt completed. They are so lively. Keep them on the list! I like your approach of setting the goals and then reviewing. Helps with priority setting. Well done. And the star quilt-love the muted, darker colors.
Your finished quilts and projects are wonderful -- and your works-in-progress will be, too! I like the two versions of the star/puss-in-the-corner design.
A "B" for Barb! Loved this post. It was like visiting old friends. Cheers to 2025! xoxo Rondi
Terrific!!!
So many wonderful projects, and the fun awaits with finishing those few that didn't make it in 2024. I'm sure we'll be seeing more inspiration in the coming months as well. Happy new year to you!
A "B"?? Oh goodness no! I would say a solid A-!! You got almost all checked off your list plus a few additions. Love them all! No goal setting here, just each day as it comes. Enjoy your day!
Happy New Year Barb! I winced when I read "failed" - no! Not fail - just not tackled yet. Your grading system is too harsh. And your quilts are fabulous. Love the Nutmeg portrait!
Oh that is so kind! thank you. Happy, Healthy New Year!
Thank you Dotti for you kind and generous comments. Happy New Year!
Love your Eagles quilt and Animals Crackers Quilt so much. Lots of personality! And Jills quilt was a winner. I think it counts for a lot when you finish a quilt that wasn't yours.:) Extra points for that!
There's no need to list one's intentions. All it does is set one up for, as you said, "Fail!" That word is not applicable to anyone who creates! You make and do as time permits, and as you feel, not obligating yourself to work on something that doesn't speak to you... at that moment. It's okay to keep a rough list in your head. That's simply guidance. I think your finishes are great (yay for a ribbon for appliqué!) and so are the unfinished projects. You have lots of fun opportunities to make and finish in 2025, exactly as you wish. Enjoy the process!
I think you had an amazing year, Barb. Would that I had accomplished as much--but then, I never aspire to. LOL
You've had some beautiful finishes (and not just on quilts), and made some great progress. So what if a few "intended" projects didn't see the light of day? Other things that weren't on the list got some love, so you're even. ;)
Good to see a post from you.
