April Fools! I missed March. But here is a quick catch up of what I've been up to, which isn't much.
I hung my Bow Tie swap quilt and my big Applique quilt for spring.
Hanna and I took a weekend trip to NYC.
Finally, I made these stuffed carrots. It only took a couple of hours and it was very fun.
If you want to make some, click here for the instructions.
We had a great time eating, walking and taking in the museums. Here is a wild exhibit at MOMA. The artist used discarded stuffed animals (donation centers) and sculpted them.We visited the Central Park Zoo and walked to the Guggenheim.
It is such an incredible building and a unique way to view art.I thought these two paintings had great colors that might work in a future quilt. This first one actually looks like quilt blocks.
I'm working on two challenges at the moment. Here are sneak peaks, but no further information to share yet.
I taught a liberated houses workshop to a great group in RI at my own guild.
I never tire of teaching this, because each class has different results. It is such an incredible building and a unique way to view art.I thought these two paintings had great colors that might work in a future quilt. This first one actually looks like quilt blocks.
Happy Spring Everyone!

What a fun trip! And what kind of walking happened after those deep dish drinks?? The stuffed animal sculpture was something for sure. And that painting does look 'quilty'. Your students did a wonderful job with thier houses. Fun workshop.
I love your Bowtie quilt. Great fish print too. I don't understand the stuffed animal sculpture but that painting sure looks like a quilt. Love the liberated house. I think some of them are haunted. I think it's the first time I "see" you working on a Black and White quilt. Your quilts are usually so full of colours and cheerful. This one must be outside your comfort zone but it looks great. Enjoy! ;^)
I'd love to visit the Guggenheim museum one day. Sounds like a wonderful weekend with your daughter. The eagle quilt in progress .... dare I guess Humble Quilt? Have a fabulous April.
oh definitely a quilt in that first photo...anxious to see more of the eagle thingie...the toes? not so much...lol...love the bow ties and applique too...and oh those houses...totally fun
What an interesting way to use stuffies for art! Looks like a fun weekend away with your daughter. The carrots are fun! Ooo…I love seeing your challenge projects. Gail at the cozy quilter
So nice to hear from you, Barb. I wonder how long it took the artist to find all the stuffed animals (how many turned out to be not-the-right-color?). Your liberated houses are delightful.
Nice to see you are keeping busy with fun things! Happy Quilting!
it is vector artwork conversion service here for it
Oh, that fish fabric bordering your bowties really makes me smile.
That Spring quilt in your dining room is such a treasure.
Looks like you and your daughter had an amazing time in New York. I have been to the state, but never made it to the city.
I got such a kick out of the Stuffies Sculptures.
Look forward to learning more about the two challenges you are currently doing.
So fun to see the variety in the student housing projects. (Couldn't resist saying that.)
The carrots are very fun. What a cute Spring decoration.
Good to see your March post. ;)
I like your carrots much more than the carrots I made last year! Your carrot tops are so adorable! I think the liberated houses are amazing! I love the black and white ones as well as the multi colored ones. I love how people's minds and souls adapt and create to constantly come up with new designs and outcomes. Your pictures from NYC were so much fun, too. Thank you for sharing with us! Those stuffed animal sculptures were so much fun. I never would have thought of that but I loved them!
