Showtime

Took the bus to the Philadelphia area for the big show.

Look who I met there - Lori of Humble Quilts. Here we are with Jill and Susan at the show.  I wish I had a photo with my bus trip friends - next time!

We had show and tell in the parking lot - classy, huh?  These are the two quilt-alongs that Lori hosted, so I thought she'd like to see them in person.

And here is my favorite quilt of the show!  I thought it was absolutely charming in every way.  I love the coloration and that rolling village is the limit!  I just love it!

the quilting is simple and it's perfect for this piece.  I thought this quilt achieved perfect balance in all aspects.

I was mesmerized by this one.

It was so elegant and lovely - zen

The boat had tulle sails and I loved that there was no one in the boat.

Another favorite was this one-

 very cool

This is a happy little village.  It reminds me of the "It's a Small World" ride at Disney world.  Charming.

Incredible quilting -

This had about 7 layers of design, including embroidery and a zillion french knots.

That's all for today folks.  I'll post the rest in a couple of days.
I'd love to hear what you thought of the show.

And hello to Besty and Ann, thanks for you kind words of encouragement and support!

I had a great time I went with my grandmother on Thursday no crowds. Glad to see you had fun. My favorite quilt was the strippy one done all by hand. Hope you got in a few purchases I did. :)

WOW I would have had a hard time moving away from these quilts. I can't even say which is my favorite, though the one with the village in the border is the one I kept going back to. I would give anything to be able to go to shows with this calliber of quilting.

Phew, I'm so glad I'm not a judge at that show. I loved your favourite, and the Zen boat one, and of course, the wholecloth, since that is my favourite style of quilt.

It looks like I missed a very good show? I loved the clerness of the village border, and the fabulous hand quilting, the beading, circular piecing, the 7 layer quilt. A feast for the eyes! Thanks for sharing.
Lucky you, getting to meet Lori. I'll bet she got a kick out seeing your quilt alongs? :)

I really like the first quilt with the rolling hills and houses around the border. The colors are so soft and soothing looking. A wonderful choice for the maker.
I have done the same thing as you with having a trunk show in the parking lot.

Thanks for sharing your quilt show pics. I was in NYC Thursday night and looked into hopping off the train in Philly on my way home Friday to visit the show. I was told by a Philly resident that I was "crazy." Apparently, it wasn't near 30th Street station.
