Sailing away with my Sailor

Happy Friday Everyone!

I finished the first of the four princess feather blocks for my Jubilee Quilt.  There are 69 stuffed berries.  I've gotten the hang of them now and they are going much faster.

Part of my Jubilee year, includes celebrating 25 wonderful years with my husband.  We were married at the Chicago Yacht Club on a blustery, stormy night.

February 14, 1987 (yep, Valentine's Day)

February 14, 1997 - vow renewal

Andrew (10) and Hanna (4).  It was so fun to have them be part of it.

July 21, 2011 - Greek Island Cruise

We're going on a one week cruise - alone.  It's our first week long trip without our children since our honeymoon!

Here's what I'm taking to work on.   Berries, lots of berries...

I'm going to force myself to finish this on this cruise.  I only have 2 rows to go for heaven's sake!

Let's try it again.  Last summer I took my machine in while I was away and it was there 6 weeks and wasn't cleaned or fixed.  I took it to a different shop and have all the confidence that it will be.

And last but, never least, coco finally had some snow last Saturday to play in!

I'm gong where colorful umbrellas adorn the beaches and the drinks ;)

Hope you all have a fun week!

Your first block of your Jubilee quilt is phenomenal!!

Your Jubilee block is simply beautiful. One question: Are the blue markings your quilting lines?

I love the red fabric you are using. This will be a very special quilt!
That snow came and went very quickly. It was 60 degrees here at 6am and thunderstorms later in the morning. Feels more like April than January.
Enjoy your cruise!

Again, I'm jaw dropped by your projects! What type of marking tool are you using on the white background?

The Princess Feather quilt is going to be a beauty. I find it interesting that you have your design marked with the washout blue pen. I just recently started doing that on some of my applique. Why didn't I think of it long ago. I never liked marking a design with a pencil that is unlikely to wash out.

Congratulations on your 25th anniversary. Isn't it a pleasure to look at your life and family spent with a wonderful partner? That jubilee quilt is looking fantastic. I love a quilt with lots of berries. I am wondering, too, if the blue lines are quilting lines.

Quick question, do you use scissors to cut out those circles? They look so perfect it left me wondering.

I love the pictures, doesn't it get you a little choked up?
Have a wonderful time, I am so jealous, sand, sun and pretty umbrellas (I am assuming there are in a colorful drink?) sounds heavenly.

What a great post! Where to start? That quilt is AMAZING! I love everything about it, the fabric, the berries, the princess feathers. How great to see pics of you and Mr. Barb through the years. :) I also love that doll quilt. I have a soft spot for tumbling blocks. I don't know why I haven't made one.
