Game, Set, Match

Hooray - I finished my new quilt with about an hour to go. I'm still working on a title, but I'm thinking of something like "Sumptuous Stars". Or maybe "It's Like Butter".
Here is a close up of the star block quilting. I thought I was only going to do cross hatch lines, but decided I wanted more, so did the straight ones, too. Isn't it always the way?
I did cable quilting on the borders. I used 2 different sized stencils, and decided to do the corner turns....it was tricky and the marking looked ridiculous before it was washed, but I'm happy with it.
The backing. As usual I had only a 2 yard piece, so had to add something. All I can say is 2 beautiful bird fabrics are always better than one!

Unfortunately, with the rain delay - no live tennis today.

I'm off to guild and dinner with the speaker. She is presenting Crazy Quilts and I'm really looking forward to it.

Wonderful Barb!! Stars are my favorite shape in quiltland....did I say that before?? LOL

Ya know quilts do talk to us and tell us that a stitch is needed here or that's the perfect border fabric. It's a wise quilter that listens LOL
