I've been working on Halloween hexie blocks at recent workshops. These are so so fun! I offer a starter kit for these in my Etsy shop.
Scarecrows on Parade! As I mentioned, our town has a scarecrow display every year. Coco and took a stroll and here are some that we really liked.
At the Library - love the dog!
Poor "Carrie" she lost her head in the wind.
The Seahorse Inn - they change their sign every year.
The French Pastry School
Local landscaper
The street view in town
Coco is getting a closer look at the realtor and scary dog display. She's wearing her special Halloween Ribbon collar
Might be my favorite!
Or this one - love those minion hay bales!
This looks a little like my boy, Andrew - especially when he took a painting class in college.
While staying at Susan's last week, I took these photos of her decorations. Love this tossed salad with vintage tableware. Here is my outdoor display. I love how dusty miller fronds look with pumpkins. This looks cool and creepy in a bird bath.
Tomorrow I'm off to visit The Pieced Together Quilters for a lecture and trunk show. They are in central western NJ if you want to visit and see my quilts.
Hope your Halloween is Scary Good Fun!

Love it! I would have to say that the Seahorse Inn is my favorite. I'm not sure I'd want to stay there, however. Hee Hee Hee! Yikes!
Love the scarecrows I think the minions are my favorites. You are so good about being festive and appreciating a season's joys.
Your quilt reminds me of the Poison Apple but I can't see any reference to a Disco ball.
Love you
Hi maia - you're really Martha - can't fool me. Oh, how I miss the 70s!! love you too
Such a fun post. With my recent travels, I'm still stuck in September! You've nudged me to get up and pull out a few seasonal decorations ~ and put Halloween candy on my shopping list!
The library scarecrow must weigh a lot. What a unique use of old books and so appropriate for a library.

"It's Halloween night and the witches are out...." ! Heeeeeeek...!!!
These are all such great decorations. We don't do decorations around here for Halloween, although I did make a scarecrow once with my daughter's old baby clothes. I'll have to dig some more out. It looks like fun!
When I mailed my bowtie blocks the mailman that helped me was so excited to see that I was mailing a package to his "hometown", he said it was a great place to live and he missed it. Now I see why, what a sweet place with lots of community spirit. Happy Halloween! Love those hexies too!
What fun displays! Your quilt is awesome and I love the striped socks. You are always in character (-:

How FUN! I love the sense of community that comes from this kind of display - so great! I started a plaid homespun version of an apple core quilt 15 years ago - I'd really like to finish it some day, but your version makes me want to toss it and start a new one! The fussy cut hexies are adorable!
